A packing list generator builds a checklist for the trip you're taking: essentials everyone needs, plus extras for a business trip, a beach holiday, cold weather, an international flight or travelling with kids. Pick the trip, tick off what's already packed, and copy or send the rest to WhatsApp.

## How to pack without forgetting things

- **Start the list days before,** not the night before. Things you'll need come to mind over a few days.
- **Pack by list, not by memory.** Memory forgets the charger every time.
- **Check documents first.** A passport that expires within six months can stop an international trip. See [passport renewal reminders](/reminders/passport-renewal).
- **Keep a reusable list** for the trips you take often, and adjust it after each one.

## The things people forget most

Chargers, travel adapters, medication, sunglasses and toiletries top most lists of forgotten items. They're all in the essentials here, so they're on every list you make.

## Keep the list in WhatsApp

Send the list to Mindie and it's saved as a list in your chat. Tick items off by message, add things as you remember them, and ask for what's left the night before. Mindie can also remind you to start packing: "remind me Thursday at 7pm to pack for the Lisbon trip". Every feature is free for 7 days.

## FAQ

### Can I combine trip types?
Yes. Pick as many as apply, like an international flight to a beach with kids, and the lists merge without repeats.

### Is my list saved?
No. It lives in your browser tab. Copy it or send it to WhatsApp to keep it.

### Can Mindie keep the list for me?
Yes. Send it to Mindie on WhatsApp and it saves it as a list you can tick off by message, like "packed the adapter".
