Where Telegram bots are better
Choice and price. There are many reminder bots, lots of them free, and Telegram itself lets you schedule messages to yourself. If one fits, it's hard to argue with free.
Where Mindie fits
Mindie is a contact in your WhatsApp. You text it the way you'd text a friend ("pay rent on the 5th at 10am"), or send a voice note or a screenshot, and it replies with the time it understood. If you leave out a time, it asks. At the right moment it messages you in the same chat, and you reply to move or cancel the reminder.
The main reason people pick Mindie over a Telegram bot is simple: the reminder arrives in WhatsApp, next to the chats they're already reading. And if you use both, Mindie works on Telegram too, with one memory across the two apps. If you're comparing WhatsApp options, the guide to WhatsApp reminder apps covers the others.
Price
Mindie is free for 7 days with every feature. A card is saved at checkout, nothing is charged during the trial, and Mindie texts you two days before it ends. After that it's $9 a month or $90 a year, with a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment. Cancel any time by texting "cancel". See pricing or start your trial.
Questions
Is Mindie on Telegram?
Yes. Mindie works on Telegram and WhatsApp with one shared memory: save something in one and ask for it in the other. You choose whether reminders arrive on WhatsApp, Telegram or both. Telegram comes with a Mindie plan and a linked WhatsApp number.
Are Telegram reminder bots free?
Many are. They're made by different developers, so features and reliability vary from bot to bot.
What does Mindie do that a simple reminder bot doesn't?
It understands plain sentences and voice notes in 5 languages, reads screenshots, keeps notes and lists, connects to Google and Outlook Calendar and Notion, and sends a Sunday recap.
Do I need to learn any commands?
No. Write the way you'd text a friend. You don't need a slash command or a date format, and if you leave out a time, Mindie asks.
Why would I pay when some bots are free?
If a basic timed message is enough, a free bot may suit you. Mindie adds voice notes, screenshots, lists, notes, calendars and habits in one chat, on WhatsApp.
