Memorae alternative: Mindie vs Memorae

Updated . Prices and features checked against each product's own website.

Mindie and Memorae both let you set reminders by texting in WhatsApp, but they are built for different people. Memorae aims wide: it calls itself "the memory layer above all your apps" and runs on WhatsApp, Telegram, email, its own app and a Chrome extension. Mindie stays narrow: one WhatsApp chat for reminders, notes, lists and your Google or Outlook calendar, on one plan.

The short answer

  • Choose Memorae if you want one assistant across several apps and channels, need to remind friends or share lists, want a daily briefing, or are setting it up for a team.
  • Choose Mindie if WhatsApp is where you already live, you want one simple plan with every feature, and you care most about plain-language reminders, voice notes, screenshots and Outlook or Google Calendar in the same chat.

Where Memorae is ahead

Memorae covers more ground, and that is a fair reason to pick it. Its website lists five ways in (WhatsApp, Telegram, email, an app on the App Store and Google Play, and a Chrome extension), so you can reach it from a laptop browser as easily as from your phone. Mindie has no app or extension of its own and works through WhatsApp (including WhatsApp Web and the desktop app) and Telegram.

Memorae also does things Mindie doesn't do at all. Per its website you can send reminders to friends, keep shared memory, get a daily briefing, have email drafts written for you, and run a team workspace with shared lists, reminders and handovers. If any of those is the reason you are looking, Mindie is not a like-for-like swap.

Where Mindie is different

Mindie puts its effort into one chat. You type or say a reminder the way you'd text a friend ("pay rent on the 5th at 10am", "recuérdame mañana a las 8 ir al gimnasio") and it replies with the time it understood, so a wrong guess is easy to catch. If you leave out a time, it asks instead of guessing. You move a reminder by replying ("push it to 3pm") and it asks you to confirm before deleting anything.

It reads voice notes in English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese, and it reads screenshots: a photo of a handwritten list becomes a saved list, and a booking card can become a reminder or a calendar event when you ask. Messages with a #hashtag go to Notion when it's connected. You can read more on voice note reminders and screenshot to reminder.

Calendars: Google and Outlook

Both apps connect to Google Calendar. Mindie also connects Outlook Calendar, and you can link both at once: new events go to Google unless you say "to outlook". From the chat you can add an event, ask what's on this week, or delete one. Mindie can't edit an existing event yet, so a change means deleting and adding again. Memorae's website describes multi-calendar integration and a Google Workspace integration, and says it syncs with Google Calendar. See Google Calendar on WhatsApp and Outlook Calendar on WhatsApp for how Mindie handles it.

Pricing and trials

Memorae's pricing page shows three personal plans named Origin, Supernova and Big Bang, plus a Teams tab. You can pay monthly or yearly, and yearly is marked "Save 50%". Usage is counted in units of energy: Supernova, marked most popular, lists 400 of them. Prices appear in your local currency, so the number you see depends on where you are. Each personal plan shows a 7-day free trial.

Mindie has one plan with every feature, so there is nothing to compare between tiers. Fair use is up to 1,000 messages a month.

Privacy

Both say your messages stay private. Memorae's website says messages are processed privately, aren't linked to your identity or used to train external models without permission, and are protected by encryption. Mindie only sees the messages you send to it, never sells them or uses them to train AI models, and deletes your history when you text "clear our chat". Details are in Mindie's privacy policy.

Which should you pick?

Pick Memorae if your day runs across several apps and devices, if other people need to get your reminders, or if you're choosing for a team. It is the broader product and its website lists far more integrations.

Pick Mindie if you want something smaller that you set up in a minute and then forget about: one WhatsApp chat that turns sentences, voice notes and screenshots into reminders, lists, notes and calendar events. It suits people who don't want to pick a plan or count usage units, and people who use Outlook Calendar. The guide to WhatsApp reminder apps compares both with NagMeLater, Coco and Any.do.

Price

Mindie is free for 7 days with every feature. A card is saved at checkout, nothing is charged during the trial, and Mindie texts you two days before it ends. After that it is $9 a month or $90 a year (two months free), with a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment. A $99 lifetime plan is open to the first 50 buyers outside the UK and EU. Cancel any time by texting "cancel". See pricing or start your trial.
