Where Things is better
Things is built for planning. You group to-dos into projects and areas, split a project with headings, break a to-do into a checklist and filter by tag. Your calendar events show next to your to-dos in Today and Upcoming. It's a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, sync through Things Cloud is free, and the Mac version has a 15-day free trial. If you think in projects, Mindie is not a like-for-like swap.
Where Mindie fits
Mindie is a contact in your WhatsApp. You text it the way you'd text a friend ("pay rent on the 5th at 10am"), or send a voice note or a screenshot, and it replies with the time it understood. If you leave out a time, it asks. At the right moment it messages you in the same chat, and you reply to mark it done, snooze it or move it.
