Poke alternative: Mindie vs Poke

Updated . Prices and features checked against each product's own website.

Poke and Mindie both let you set a reminder by sending a text or a voice message, but Poke is a general assistant and Mindie is a focused one. Poke connects to email, calendars and a long list of apps, runs automations, and is reachable on Messages, WhatsApp and Telegram, with a free plan. Mindie sticks to reminders, notes, lists, habits and your Google or Outlook calendar, in one WhatsApp chat.

The short answer

  • Choose Poke if you want one assistant across Messages, WhatsApp and Telegram, a free plan, email help, and connections to tools like Todoist, Linear, GitHub or Oura.
  • Choose Mindie if you want a WhatsApp tool built around remembering: repeating reminders, nag mode, habits, lists, screenshots and calendars, at one flat price.

Where Poke is ahead

Poke connects to a lot more. Its home page lists Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Notion, GitHub, Linear, Asana, Todoist, Granola, Oura and Strava, and it has pre-built "recipes" plus a way for developers to build their own. It reads your email and calendar, and Pro adds background automations that run on their own.

It also reaches more chat apps and has a free plan with no card. If you use Telegram or Messages rather than WhatsApp, Poke fits today and Mindie doesn't.

Where Mindie is different

Mindie puts its effort into reminders. Say "take my vitamins every weekday at 8am" or send a voice note, and it repeats on schedule in your timezone. Reply done, snooze or undo. Nag mode keeps nudging until you finish, deadline heads-ups warn you before something's due, and habits keep streaks.

It reads screenshots and photos: a booking card can become a reminder or a calendar event, and a handwritten list becomes a saved list. It answers in English, Spanish, French, German or Portuguese. See voice note reminders and screenshot to reminder.

Notion and calendars

Both connect Notion and Google Calendar, and both work with Outlook. In Mindie, a message with a #hashtag becomes a page in your Notion database, and you can add events to Google Calendar or Outlook or ask what's on this week. Poke's wider list of connections is the better fit if your work runs through tools like Linear or GitHub. See Notion on WhatsApp.

Privacy

Mindie only sees the messages you send to it; they aren't sold or used for ads or AI training. Poke describes itself as private; its privacy policy has the details on how it handles the email and calendar access it asks for.

Which should you pick?

Pick Poke if you want a broad, free-to-start assistant that works with many apps and chat services.

Pick Mindie if your goal is to stop forgetting things, and you want that handled well inside WhatsApp at a flat price.

Price

Poke's pricing page lists Free at $0 a month with no card, Pro at $19 a month (frontier models, background automations, higher limits) and Ultra at $199 a month (highest limits, pay-as-you-go beyond credits). A yearly option is shown, but its prices weren't listed on the page.

You can try Mindie on WhatsApp with no sign-up. The 7-day free trial includes every feature, with a card saved at checkout. After that Mindie is $9 a month or $90 a year, with a 7-day money-back guarantee. A $99 lifetime plan is open to the first 50 buyers outside the UK and EU. See pricing or start your trial.
