The best reminders, notes and lists on WhatsApp
Updated .
Most people don't want three apps for three small jobs. They want to text one place "remind me to call the dentist at 9", "add oat milk to the shopping list" and "note that the Wi-Fi code is on the fridge", and have all three work. Several WhatsApp assistants now try to do that, but they cover the three jobs unevenly.
This guide goes job by job, so you can see who is strong at which. Facts about other apps come from their own websites and may change.
The three jobs
Reminders are the things that must reach you at a set time. Notes are things you want to find again later. Lists are things you tick off: groceries, packing, errands. A tool that is great at one can be thin at the others.
| App | Reminders | Notes | Lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mindie | One-off, repeating and nag mode | Saved in chat, optionally to Notion | Personal lists |
| NagMeLater | One-off and repeating, group reminders | Listed | To-dos with projects |
| Memorae | Recurring and friend-to-friend | Long-term memory | Lists, shared on Teams |
| Coco | Including reminders sent to friends | Memory | Lists |
| Any.do | Through its task app | Not stated on its website | Full task lists in its own app |
| Notis | Treated as a quick task | Pages written to Notion | Through its connected apps |
Mindie
Mindie is a WhatsApp contact for reminders, notes, lists and your calendar, all in one chat. You write in plain words or send a voice note, and it replies with what it understood. Screenshots work too: a photo of a handwritten list becomes a list.
Reminders can repeat, nag you every 30 minutes until you reply done, and sync to Google or Outlook Calendar. Notes stay in the chat and come back when you ask, and a #hashtag sends a note to Notion. Lists are personal and easy to read back.
What it doesn't do: no reminders for other people, no shared lists, and no app or browser extension. It only messages you.
Good pick if you want all three jobs on one plan inside WhatsApp and nothing else to install. See WhatsApp reminders, notes and lists.
NagMeLater
NagMeLater is strongest on reminders and habits. Its website lists nag mode, group reminders, to-dos with projects, habits with streaks, goals and notes. Good pick if reminders and habits are the main job. See Mindie vs NagMeLater.
Memorae
Memorae calls itself "the memory layer above all your apps". It runs on WhatsApp, Telegram, email, its own app and a Chrome extension, with shared lists and a team workspace on its Teams plan. Good pick if you want one assistant across several channels or need to share. See Mindie vs Memorae.
Coco
Coco is a calendar and reminder assistant on WhatsApp and Telegram. Its website lists lists, reminders sent to friends, memory and editing Google or Outlook events. Good pick if your calendar is the centre of your day. See Mindie vs Coco.
Any.do
Any.do is a full task app with a WhatsApp bot for capture, and the bot needs a paid plan. Good pick if you want a complete task manager on every device and WhatsApp is just a quick way in. See Mindie vs Any.do.
Notis
Notis acts across more than 1,000 connected apps and writes to Notion. Good pick if your notes already live in Notion or other tools and you want WhatsApp to feed them. See Mindie vs Notis.
How to choose
If you want reminders, notes and lists together with the least setup, Mindie or NagMeLater work inside WhatsApp with no app to install. Pick NagMeLater when habits and group reminders matter most, and Mindie when you also want notes, lists and your calendar in the same chat.
If you need to share lists or remind other people, look at Memorae, Coco or Any.do. If your notes belong in Notion, Mindie's #hashtag or Notis can do it.
Price
Mindie is free for 7 days with every feature. A card is saved at checkout, nothing is charged during the trial, and Mindie texts you two days before it ends. After that it's $9 a month or $90 a year, with a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment. See pricing or start your free trial.
Questions
Can one WhatsApp app handle reminders, notes and lists?
Yes. Mindie keeps all three in one chat on one plan. NagMeLater lists reminders, to-dos and notes, and Memorae and Coco list reminders and lists. Check each one's own website for the exact limits.
Where do my notes go?
With Mindie, a note is a message in your chat that you can ask for again later, and a message with a #hashtag such as #ideas becomes a page in your Notion database when Notion is connected. Other apps keep notes inside their own app or memory.
Can I share a list with someone?
Not with Mindie, whose lists are personal. Memorae lists shared lists on its Teams plan, and Any.do has Family and Workspace plans for groups.
Do I need to install anything?
Not for Mindie. You add it as a WhatsApp contact and text it. It works on iPhone, Android, WhatsApp Web and the desktop app.
How much does it cost?
Mindie is free for 7 days with every feature, then $9 a month or $90 a year. The others price differently, so compare their own pricing pages before you pick.
Mindie isn't affiliated with the other products named here. Their details come from their own websites and app listings and can change. Checked on 3 November 2026. Sources: Each app's own website, pricing page or help center; Mindie's own product.
