Evernote alternative: reminders in WhatsApp
Updated . Prices and features checked against each product's own website.
If you're looking for an Evernote alternative because you only ever used it for quick notes and reminders, Mindie does that from a WhatsApp chat. Text a note, ask for it later in your own words, and get reminders as messages.
If you have years of notebooks, clipped articles and scanned documents in Evernote, Mindie isn't where they should go.

The short answer
- Stay with Evernote, or move to another full notes app, if you keep an archive: notebooks, web clips, PDFs and scans.
- Try Mindie if your notes are mostly short things to remember and the reminders attached to them.

Where Evernote is better
Evernote stores almost anything: long notes, web pages, PDFs, scans and attachments, organised into notebooks and searchable. Mindie stores short text you send it and reads screenshots. For an archive, Evernote or a similar full notes app is the right tool.
Where Mindie fits
Mindie is a contact in your WhatsApp. You text it the way you'd text a friend ("pay rent on the 5th at 10am"), or send a voice note or a screenshot, and it replies with the time it understood. If you leave out a time, it asks. At the right moment it messages you in the same chat, and you reply to move or cancel the reminder.
Most of what people save is small: a parking spot, a recipe tweak, a gift idea, a number to call. Mindie keeps those in one chat and finds them when you ask. Screenshots of bills and bookings become reminders, after Mindie checks the details with you. If you want longer notes in a proper workspace, connect Notion and send them with a hashtag.
Price
Mindie is free for 7 days with every feature. A card is saved at checkout, nothing is charged during the trial, and Mindie texts you two days before it ends. After that it's $9 a month or $90 a year, with a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment. Cancel any time by texting "cancel". See pricing or start your trial.
Questions
Can I import my Evernote notes?
No. Mindie has no import. It suits people starting fresh with quick notes, not people moving a large archive.
Can Mindie clip web pages or store PDFs?
No. Mindie saves what you text it and reads screenshots you send. It isn't a document archive.
Where do my notes go if I want them in a bigger tool?
Connect Notion, and messages with a hashtag are saved as Notion pages.
Is Mindie a good fit for a big note archive?
Not really. Mindie suits short notes you want back quickly. For long documents and clipped pages, keep a dedicated notes tool.
Can I save a note from a photo?
Yes. Send a screenshot or photo and Mindie reads the text. Ask it to save what matters, then ask for it again later.
