Updated . Prices and features checked against each product's own website.
If you're looking for a Gemini reminders alternative, maybe because your reminders end up in Google Tasks and the alert is easy to swipe away, Mindie sends reminders as WhatsApp messages. It can also add events to Google Calendar or Outlook from the same chat.
Gemini is a capable assistant with deep ties to Google's apps. If you live in Google's world, that's a strong reason to use it.

Where Gemini is better
Gemini can add, change, list and delete reminders and tasks in Google Tasks, on Android, iPhone and the web, and on newer Galaxy phones in Samsung Reminder. It answers questions, works by voice, and can run scheduled prompts, such as a daily digest of your calendar and email, with up to 10 active at once. On Google AI Pro and Ultra, its newer tasks feature can also work with Google Keep notes and lists. If you use Google's apps all day, Gemini fits right in.
Where Mindie fits
Mindie is a contact in your WhatsApp. You text it the way you would text a friend ("pay rent on the 5th at 10am"), or send a voice note or a screenshot, and it replies with the time it understood. If you leave out a time, it asks. When the moment comes it messages you in the same chat, and you reply done, snooze or undo.
Ask "what's on tomorrow?" and Mindie reads your Google Calendar or Outlook. Say "dinner with Alex Friday at 8" and the event is added. Repeats cover daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, yearly and every N hours, days, weeks or months, and they follow your time zone. Nag mode keeps nudging until you reply done, and an opt-in morning briefing sends your day as a WhatsApp message.
Using both
You can keep Gemini for questions and voice control, and use Mindie for reminders you can't afford to miss. Events Mindie adds to Google Calendar show up for Gemini too, but reminders set in Mindie don't appear in Google Tasks.
Price
Gemini's Google Tasks reminders are part of the Gemini app. Some newer features, like Gemini's tasks, need a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription.
Mindie has one plan: $9 a month or $90 a year. You can try it on WhatsApp first with no sign-up, then start a 7-day free trial with every feature. A card is saved at checkout and nothing is charged during the trial. A $99 lifetime plan is open to the first 50 buyers outside the UK and EU. The first payment has a 7-day money-back guarantee, and texting "cancel" ends the plan. See pricing or start your trial.
