WhatsApp link generator
Updated .
A WhatsApp link generator makes a wa.me link: a web address that opens a WhatsApp chat with a number, optionally with a message already typed. Enter the number with its country code, add a message if you want one, and copy the link.
Your link
https://wa.me/
How to use the link
- In your bio on Instagram, X, LinkedIn or TikTok, so people can message you in one tap.
- On your website, as a "Chat on WhatsApp" button.
- In emails and invoices, so clients can reply on WhatsApp.
- In ads and flyers, usually as a QR code made from the link.
Writing a good pre-filled message
The pre-filled message is what the visitor sends you, so write it in their voice. "Hi, I'd like to book a table for Saturday" tells you what they want before you reply. Keep it short, and give each campaign its own message so you know where the chat came from: "Hi, I saw your ad on Instagram" versus "Hi, I found you on Google Maps".
Number format
Use the full international number with no plus sign, spaces, dashes or leading zero. A UK number like 07700 900123 becomes 447700900123. The tool strips spaces, dashes and the plus for you. If you leave the number empty, the link opens WhatsApp with your message and lets the sender pick who to send it to, which is handy for "share this with a friend" buttons.
Remember to follow up
Once people start messaging you, the hard part is replying on time. Mindie is a WhatsApp contact for your own reminders: text it "remind me at 5 to reply to the Saturday booking" and it messages you at 5. It never messages your customers for you. Every feature is free for 7 days.
Questions
What is a wa.me link?
It's WhatsApp's official click-to-chat link. Anyone who opens it gets a chat with your number, without saving you as a contact first.
Does the other person need to have my number saved?
No. That's the point of the link. They tap it and the chat opens.
Can I make a QR code from the link?
Yes. Paste the link into any QR code maker, or use WhatsApp's own QR code in Settings if you don't need a pre-filled message.
Is anything I type saved?
No. The link is built in your browser. Nothing is sent to Mindie.
This tool runs in your browser: nothing you type is sent to Mindie or saved. Checked on 29 October 2026.
