Asana alternative: personal reminders in WhatsApp
Updated . Prices and features checked against each product's own website.
If you're looking for an Asana alternative because you've been using a team tool for your own errands and it feels like filing paperwork, Mindie keeps personal reminders, notes and short lists in a WhatsApp chat. You text it, and it texts you back when it's time.
Asana is made for coordinating work across a team, and there it does far more than Mindie.

The short answer
- Stay with Asana if you plan projects with other people: assigning tasks, tracking progress on a timeline, running goals and portfolios.
- Try Mindie if the tasks you keep forgetting are your own: calls to return, bills, appointments, renewals.

Where Asana is better
Asana is built to keep a team in step. You can lay a project out as a list, board, calendar, timeline or Gantt chart, assign tasks, set up automations, and see everything assigned to you in My Tasks. Recurring tasks can repeat on a set day or a custom schedule, the inbox keeps you up to date on work that involves you, and it connects to hundreds of other tools. Higher plans add goals, portfolios and time tracking.
Where Mindie fits
Mindie is a contact in your WhatsApp. You text it the way you'd text a friend ("pay rent on the 5th at 10am"), or send a voice note or a screenshot, and it replies with the time it understood. If you leave out a time, it asks. At the right moment it messages you in the same chat, and you reply to mark it done, snooze it or move it.
It's a lighter way to handle the personal side. No project to pick, no fields to fill in. Ask "what's on tomorrow?" and Mindie tells you, and an opt-in evening recap rounds off the day.
Using both
Keep Asana for team projects and send Mindie the things only you need to remember, at work or at home. Mindie doesn't connect to Asana yet; an Asana integration is coming soon.
Price
Mindie is free for 7 days with every feature. A card is saved at checkout, nothing is charged during the trial, and Mindie texts you two days before it ends. After that it's $9 a month or $90 a year, with a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment. Cancel any time by texting "cancel". See pricing or start your trial.
Questions
Is Mindie a replacement for Asana at work?
No. Mindie has no projects, assignees, timelines or team workspaces. It's for one person's reminders, notes and short lists.
Does Mindie connect to Asana?
Not yet. An Asana integration is coming soon. For now the two run separately.
Can Mindie handle repeating tasks?
Yes. Daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, yearly, or every N hours, days, weeks or months, and you can end a repeat after a set number of times or on a date.
Why use Mindie next to Asana?
Asana holds the team's work. Mindie catches what you think of between meetings, like a follow-up or a personal errand, without opening a project tool.
Can my team see my Mindie reminders?
No. Mindie is a private chat with you, and reminders come only to your own WhatsApp. Shared work stays in Asana.
