Trello alternative: personal reminders in WhatsApp
Updated . Prices and features checked against each product's own website.
If you're looking for a Trello alternative because your boards have become a personal to-do list that you only open when you remember to, Mindie keeps reminders, notes and short lists in a WhatsApp chat. The nudge arrives in the app you already check.
Trello is a good way to run shared work, and for teams it stays the better choice.

Mindie
on WhatsApp
A deadline
A personal to-do
A quick list
The short answer
- Stay with Trello if you track work on boards with other people, move cards through stages, and use automation or Power-Ups.
- Try Mindie if you mainly used Trello as a personal list and the due dates kept slipping past without you noticing.
At a glance
| Mindie | Trello | |
|---|---|---|

| How you add things | A sentence, voice note or screenshot | Cards on lists, on a board |
| Shared work | No, personal only | Workspaces and boards for teams |
| Reminders | Repeats, snooze, nag mode, deadline heads-ups | Due date reminders and recurring due dates |
| Price | $9 a month | Free for up to 10 collaborators, paid plans from $5 per user a month billed yearly |
Where Trello is better
Trello is built for seeing work move. Cards sit on lists, you drag them across a board, and everyone on the board sees the same picture. Automation is built into every board, Power-Ups connect other tools, and the paid Premium plan adds calendar, timeline, table, dashboard and map views. The free plan covers up to 10 collaborators per workspace, which is plenty for a small group.
Where Mindie fits
Mindie is a contact in your WhatsApp. You text it the way you'd text a friend ("pay rent on the 5th at 10am"), or send a voice note or a screenshot, and it replies with the time it understood. If you leave out a time, it asks. At the right moment it messages you in the same chat, and you reply to mark it done, snooze it or move it.
There's no board to open. Ask "what's due this week?" and Mindie tells you, or turn on the morning briefing to get the day's list without asking.
Using both
Keep Trello for shared projects and use Mindie for your own reminders, including the personal follow-ups that come out of those projects. Mindie doesn't connect to Trello yet; a Trello integration is coming soon.
Price
Mindie is free for 7 days with every feature. A card is saved at checkout, nothing is charged during the trial, and Mindie texts you two days before it ends. After that it's $9 a month or $90 a year, with a 7-day money-back guarantee on the first payment. Cancel any time by texting "cancel". See pricing or start your trial.
Questions
Is Mindie a Trello replacement for my team?
No. Mindie has no boards, cards, lists you share or team workspaces. It's personal: reminders, notes and short lists for one person.
Does Mindie connect to Trello?
Not yet. A Trello integration is coming soon. For now the two run separately.
Can Mindie remind me before a deadline?
Yes. Give Mindie a deadline and it sends heads-ups before it, then keeps nudging if you turn on nag mode.
Can I see my tasks as cards on a board?
No. Mindie has no board view. You see lists and reminders as messages in WhatsApp, so keep Trello if you need the visual board.
Can I use Mindie to remember what to do on a Trello board?
Yes. Set a reminder in words, like "tomorrow at 10 remind me to update the launch board". Mindie doesn't connect to Trello itself.
