Daily standup reminder on WhatsApp
Updated .
A daily standup reminder on WhatsApp is a message a few minutes before standup, every weekday. With Mindie you set it once: "every weekday at 9:25am remind me about standup at 9:30". It skips weekends and keeps going until you stop it.
Standup is short, which is exactly why it's easy to miss. You're in the middle of something, the clock runs past 9:30, and you join halfway through with no update ready.

Note a blocker
When to be reminded
- Five minutes before, enough to wrap up and join.
- The evening before, to jot down what you did and what's next.
- When something blocks you, add it straight to your standup notes.
Why standups get missed
- Focus beats the clock. Deep work makes time disappear.
- Updates are made up on the spot. "Yesterday I... um" helps nobody.
- Blockers go unmentioned because you forgot them by morning.
Habits that help
- Keep a standup list. Add done items and blockers as they happen.
- Ask for the list before you join. "What's on my standup notes?" and you're ready.
- Clear the list after. Start fresh each day.
How Mindie handles it
- Send the time and "every weekday".
- Mindie confirms it, like "Weekdays at 9:25 am: standup at 9:30".
- Each weekday it messages you, in your timezone.
If your team is in another timezone, tell Mindie the meeting time in theirs and it works out yours.
What Mindie doesn't do
- It doesn't post updates to your team or read your work chat.
- It doesn't join meetings.
- It isn't a project tracker. It keeps simple lists and reminders.
Questions
Can the reminder skip weekends?
Yes. Say "every weekday" and Mindie only reminds you Monday to Friday.
Can I pause it while I'm on leave?
Yes. Delete it by name before you go and set it again when you're back, or snooze it for the days you're off.
Can Mindie post my update to the team?
No. Mindie only messages you. You share the update in your standup or team chat.
Can I jot down updates during the day?
Yes. Send a note whenever you finish something, then ask Mindie for your standup notes before the meeting.
How early before the standup should it go off?
Ten to fifteen minutes works for most people. That gives you time to check your notes and join on time.
This page explains how to set the reminder with Mindie. It isn't financial, legal or medical advice; check dates and doses with the people who set them. Checked on 31 October 2026.
