Therapy session reminder on WhatsApp
Updated .
A therapy session reminder on WhatsApp is a message before each appointment, and a nudge the evening before to think about what you want to cover. With Mindie, send "every Thursday at 4pm remind me therapy is at 5pm" and it arrives before every session.
A lot happens between sessions, and much of it is forgotten by the time you're in the room. The thought that felt important on Monday is gone by Thursday, and the session starts with "I'm not sure what to talk about."

When to be reminded
- An hour or so before the session, with time to get there or log in.
- The evening before, to collect what's been on your mind.
- After the session, to note anything you want to try or remember.
Why sessions slip
- Workdays run over and the appointment time sneaks up.
- Fortnightly sessions are easy to lose track of. Was it this week or next?
- Thoughts vanish before you can bring them up.
Habits that help
- Note things as they happen. Send them to a therapy notes list in Mindie, as text or a voice note.
- Review your notes before you go. Ask Mindie for the list on the way.
- Protect the time. Sync the reminder to your calendar so nothing gets booked over it.
How Mindie handles it
Set the session as a weekly or fortnightly reminder and add a planning reminder the night before. Mindie sends both in your timezone. Ask for your notes list any time.
What Mindie doesn't do
- It isn't therapy or medical advice, and it's not a crisis service. If you're in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line.
- It doesn't contact your therapist or book sessions.
- It never shares your notes. Reminders and notes stay in your own chat.
Questions
Are my therapy notes private?
Your notes live in your own chat with Mindie. Mindie never sends them to anyone else.
My sessions are every two weeks. Can it handle that?
Yes. Say "every 2 weeks on Thursday at 4pm" and Mindie repeats it on that schedule.
Can Mindie reschedule a session?
No. Mindie doesn't contact your therapist or book anything. If the time changes, tell Mindie the new time and it updates the reminder.
Can I save something to bring up in my session?
Yes. Send a note whenever it comes to mind, then ask for it before you go. Only save what you're comfortable keeping in a chat.
Will the reminder say it's about therapy?
Only if you write that. You could word it as "3pm appointment", because WhatsApp messages can show on your lock screen.
This page explains how to set the reminder with Mindie. It isn't financial, legal or medical advice; check dates and doses with the people who set them. Checked on 31 October 2026.
