Birth control pill reminder on WhatsApp

Updated .

A birth control pill reminder on WhatsApp is a message at the same time every day, and it can keep coming back until you've taken the pill. With Mindie, send "every day at 9pm remind me to take my pill and keep reminding me until I say done" and the nudges stop only when you reply done.

The pill works best taken at about the same time each day, and that's the part life gets in the way of. A late dinner, a night out or a weekend lie-in can push the dose hours off without you noticing.

Setting it up

  • One daily reminder at a time you're usually at home and awake.
  • Nag mode for the dose you really can't miss: Mindie keeps nudging until you reply done.
  • Pack reminders for when a new pack starts, and a heads-up before the last one runs out.

Why doses get missed

  • Evenings change. Plans move, and the usual time passes unnoticed.
  • "Did I take it?" Without a reply on record, it's hard to be sure.
  • The prescription runs out in the middle of a busy month.

Habits that help

  • Keep the pack with something you use daily, like your toothbrush or phone charger.
  • Reply done the moment you take it, so there's a clear record.
  • Plan the refill early. See prescription refill reminders.

How Mindie handles it

  1. Send the reminder once, with the time and whether to keep nudging.
  2. Mindie confirms what it set and sends it every day in your timezone.
  3. Reply done to close it for the day, or "snooze 15 minutes" if your hands are full.

What Mindie doesn't do

  • It isn't medical advice. For missed pills or questions about your method, check the leaflet or ask your pharmacist or doctor.
  • It doesn't order or refill prescriptions.
  • It doesn't connect to health apps, and reminders come only to your own chat.

Questions

What happens if I miss the reminder?

With nag mode on, Mindie keeps nudging until you reply done. If you miss a pill, follow the leaflet in the pack or ask your pharmacist or doctor.

Will the reminder follow me when I travel?

Yes. Reminders are timezone-aware. If you need to stay on your home time instead, ask your pharmacist how to handle the change, then set the time to match.

Does the message say what it's for?

It says whatever you write. If others see your screen, phrase it as something neutral like "9pm, the usual".

Can I choose a daily time that fits my routine?

Yes. Pick a time you're usually awake and free, like just after breakfast, and ask Mindie to remind you every day then.

Can I reply when I've taken it?

Yes. Reply "done" to close that day's reminder. Your doctor or the pill's leaflet can tell you what to do about a late or missed pill.

This page explains how to set the reminder with Mindie. It isn't financial, legal or medical advice; check dates and doses with the people who set them. Checked on 31 October 2026.
