Investment review reminder on WhatsApp
Updated .
An investment review reminder on WhatsApp is a scheduled message asking you to sit down and look over your accounts. Set it with Mindie in one line, for example "every 6 months starting 1 January at 7pm remind me to review my investment accounts", and it repeats on that schedule.
There are two common problems: never looking, and looking too often. Some people leave an old account untouched for years with high fees or the wrong beneficiary. Others check every day and react to headlines. A review on a set date, a few times a year, sits in between.

Every six months
Once a year with a checklist
Before an adviser meeting
When to be reminded
- Every six months or once a year. Pick a schedule that suits you and stick to it.
- After a life change. A new job, a move, a marriage or a new child is worth a one-off review.
- Before a meeting with an adviser. A reminder a couple of days ahead to write down your questions.
Why reviews get skipped
- There's no deadline. Nothing forces the check, so it slides year after year.
- Accounts are spread out. An old workplace plan, a personal account and an app you opened once, each with its own login.
- It's easier to look away in a bad year. Which is often when a calm review helps most.
Habits that help
- Use the same checklist each time. Fees, account list, beneficiaries, and whether anything changed in your life.
- Keep a list of accounts. Send Mindie "add old work 401k to accounts list" so you have the full picture in one place.
- Write down questions as they come up. Add them to a list and ask for it before you meet an adviser.
How Mindie handles it
- You send one message with the schedule, like every 3 months, every 6 months or yearly.
- Mindie confirms the first date and how often it repeats.
- It messages you on each date in your timezone. Reply "done" when you've reviewed, or snooze it to the weekend.
Your accounts list and questions stay in your Mindie notes and lists, so they're there next time.
What Mindie doesn't do
- It isn't investment advice. It never suggests what to buy, sell or hold.
- It doesn't connect to any account, brokerage or bank, and can't see balances.
- It doesn't message your adviser. Reminders come only to your own WhatsApp chat.
Questions
Can I set a reminder every 6 months?
Yes. Send "every 6 months starting 1 January remind me to review my investments" and Mindie repeats it on that schedule.
Will Mindie tell me what to buy or sell?
No. Mindie never gives investment advice. It reminds you to review, and keeps any notes or questions you send it.
Does it connect to my brokerage?
No. It doesn't connect to brokers, banks or any financial account. Reminders and notes are all it holds.
What should I save after a review?
Save the date and your own notes on what you decided and why. It's useful to read before the next review.
Can I set the review for after the tax year ends?
Yes. Pick any date and ask Mindie to repeat it every year. An adviser can help you decide what to do in the review.
This page explains how to set the reminder with Mindie. It isn't financial, legal or medical advice; check dates and doses with the people who set them. Checked on 31 October 2026.
